Shannon Smith Made the Sohail Real Estate Group More Efficient

Shannon Smith’s job at Sohail Real Estate Group of @properties is squarely focused on keeping people connected. She assists her boss, Sohail Salahuddin, in managing the hundreds of clients he's amassed in his 20-year career.

“I deal with the relationship upkeep, scheduling, social media and a little bit of PR,’’ says Smith, the team’s relationship coordinator. It’s a busy job when you work for a guy whose team has sold 750 houses in past five years.

One of Smith’s biggest challenges is working with Salahuddin’s database of customers, built through years of hard work in real estate. In this business, it's imperative that Sohail's clients know that he's still actively involved in maintaining an active working relationship. “He just has such a large number of contacts, and it is hard for him to manage himself,’’ Smith says.

That’s where First comes in. “Sohail wanted a company that could help him put all of these pieces in working order,” Smith says.

Relationships come first

The first test was a client appreciation Luau this past summer. First’s Scheduling Assistants  jumped in to help reach out to invited people who hadn’t responded. As part of the calls, the assistant kept notes from the calls and added them to the database. There were over 500 contacts. FIrst worked diligently to scrub emails, phone numbers and addresses. Once completed, all was replaced with up-to-date information.

The result? “We tripled the number of people attending the party,’’ Smith says. “It was so effective and efficient.’’ Thanks to First, the database is more up-to-date and useful then it has ever been.

The next step for Sohail Real Estate Group is to start using other aspects of First’s services to help set up appointments for Salahuddin. The plan is to touch base with people who might plan to sell in the next six to nine months. “I’m excited to see where this goes. It should optimize everyone’s time,’’ Smith says.
